Apart from a higher tensile strength, the 20Mncr5 DIN 34CrNiMo6 Rods exhibit superior toughness and good hardenability characteristics as well. The resulting performance of the 20Mncr5 Carbon Steel Round Bar after heat treatment will yield better results as compared to alloy 20Cr. Even when used in low temperature applications, the 20mncr5 steel forging bar demonstrates good toughness and better machinability.
However, the performance of Carbon Steel 20Mncr5 Hex Bar for welding operations is low; which is why this alloy is not suited to be used for use in applications that require welding. Generally, these CS 20Mncr5 Cold Finished bars are supplied in a carburizing quenching or quenched condition.
