Zeron 100 is a highly alloyed metal that belongs to the category of super duplex stainless steel. The idea behind using a Zeron 100 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Cold rolled bar is to find an alloy that was capable of sustaining itself in environments that contain aggressive media. Like most duplex alloys, the microstructure of Zeron 100 Super Duplex Cold Drawn Bar is of a dual nature and contains both ferrite and austenite.

The dual microstructure in aggregation with the high alloying content of the metal gives the Zeron 100 Grade Round Bar several attractive properties. Properties such as high mechanical strength, superior toughness as well as excellent resistance to corrosion are just to name a few. An interesting property of the Zeron 100 F55 Round Bar perhaps is its resistance to corrosion across a comprehensive list of acids, including both organic and inorganic acids. Exposure of the UNS S32760 Zeron 100 F55 Bright Bar to a temperature exceeding 572° F is not recommended as an elevation in temperature causes a substantial decrease in its toughness properties.

The higher contents of copper and tungsten are what grants the Zeron 100 Alloy Hot rolled bar excellent resistance to corrosion, particularly when these components are immersed in many non-oxidizing and mineral acids such as either hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. Zeron 100 Round Bar exhibits igh resistance to pitting and, it has a PREN value of more than 40.
