Carbon Steel C45 Round Bar
Typically the C45 CS Forged Bars are supplied in either a black hot rolled condition or they could be supplied occasionally in a normalised condition. The tensile strength of Carbon Steel C45 Round Bars ranges between 570 Mpa – 700 Mpa, while the Brinell hardness value ranges between 170 – 210 in both, normalised and black hot rolled condition. However, these Carbon Steel C45 Bright Bars do not respond satisfactorily to nitriding conditions due to a lack of suitable elements for its alloying.
C45 steel round bar is equivalent to EN8 or 080M40. Application of the C45 welding rod includes its suitable for the manufacture of equipment such as general-purpose axles, gears, bolts, and shafts, keys and studs. The aforementioned equipment requires good mechanical strength, therefore CS C45 Round Bar demonstrates their suitability here. The strength and wear resistance of C45 steel rod is much higher as compared to a low carbon mild steel alloy grade.
