A major drawback about the Aluminium 2014 UNS A92014 Cold Drawn Bars is that it exhibits poor resistance to corrosion for an aluminium based alloy. To deal with this issue, the ASTM B211 Aluminium 2014 T6 Black Bars are often clad with pure aluminium. If an unclad form of  2014 aluminium bar has been exposed to the elements, the material needs to be painted as a measure of protection against corrosion.
