Copper is a very versatile metal and can be alloyed with many others to give certain characteristics. One of the primary characteristics of copper is good electrical conductivity. Which is why for applications that have requirements for good electricity flow, manufacturers are very likely to recommend the use of a C11000 Copper Bar. Copper grade C11000 may also be referred to as Electrolytic Tough Pitch.
Being a common grade of copper, the C11000 Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) is a universal component for electrical applications. With a minimum conductivity rating of 100% IACS, the purity value of the C11000 Electrolytic Tough Pitch Copper is required to stand at 99.9%. Though the purity needs to be kept to a minimum of 99.9%, it is not unheard of that the Electrolytic Tough Pitch Casting contains some trace quantity of oxygen in its chemistry.
Typically, it is expected that this pure grade has an oxygen content ranging between 0.02% to 0.04%. Usually, the use of C11000 Copper Rod involves the most demanding electrical applications including the likes of the transmission of power as well as signals.
